This kind of Friends.

It was a few years ago the Lord called me to be Julie's visiting teacher. I just loved visitng her home and they would have to kick me out when I came to visit !! We had been friends prior to the call but when I became her VT we found we had a lot in common, we loved so many of the same things and we enjoyed doing things together. We both loved to yard sale and would get up early (we started out at 6am usually and even earlier if it was a special block sale in Fresno's older neighborhoods). I was going thru some interesting personal times, most of you know the story, and she and her family so willingly adopted us and loved us without reservations. They would come over whenever we invited them for dinner and would also have us over. One of the most special things is they would actually just drop in at anytime they where in town to see what we were doing !!! We loved it, it was how I had always pictured my life when I was a child. I always wanted to have a home where peole would just drop in to visit because they were close by !! It was a great time in our lives. If any of you have ever read "Anne of Green Gables" you'll know what I mean when I say the Lord blessed me with a "Bosom Friend". She has always had my back and has been a source of support and comfort. I could tell her anything and know she would not judge me or think me crazy !! She and her family tolerated us when we weren't very tolerable !! (prior to the divorce lol, not that I'm tolerable now !!)
But then it was time for them to move on, back to their home state of AZ. I was very sad when I knew they would be moving (for myself), but I knew it was in their best interests and what they wanted, so I was happy for them. We made many jokes about me stalking them and putting a trailer on their propety in AZ, but alas I haven't done that yet !! LOL I miss them just stopping in and bringing me a diet coke from Sonic and even just watching TV with them.
I was very sad (again for myself) after their move. (By the way I call her almost everyday, now you know why she moved I am a stalker !!) I was talking to another friend about it and she comforted me by saying "The Boydston's had been placed in my life when I needed them and I would never lose their friendship. She likened them to a bridge which helped me get to where I am today, a much happier person living the life I chose (after the divorce). She was right, I haven't lost a friend she is just in another place right at the end of a telephone call !!
And now to the point of this whole blog, today as I was reading the comments of my friends who visit my blog I realized how truly blessed I have been by the Lord !!!!! I have more true friends than any one person deserves !!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all mean so much to me and I can never tell you in words !!! I know I am not alone and with that knowledge I may gain the "Courage" I seek. I love you all, thank you for all you do for me and for just being my friends, not always an easy task !! Love Ya R

You are a special friend and I really don't deserve you. I am a lousy friend and I need to improve.
Julie is your "Bosom Friend" and I totally know what you mean.. I love 'Anne of Green Gables" I too have always wanted a 'kindred Spirit' I agree with you.. there are so many wonderful people placed in my life. I just need to act on it more.. People do come in and out of our lives for a reason. Father in Heaven is so wise!! Missed you today :)

I love the picture of Julie...it makes me miss her even more...I agree with Caleen, no fair that she only visits you when they are in town. I often wonder where we would be without friends...mostly sad I imagine. I am so grateful for friends who are such an inspiration to me...you are one of them!!!

It's always easy being your friend Robin! It always has been. I met Robin 23 or so years ago in a different ward that we both lived in. She brought me chicken noodle soup when I had Mono after having Christi. She was wonderful then...and wonderful now. Always a good friend and we are all blessed to have you in our lives. Never forget that! That is a great picture of Julie by the way and makes me miss her! Hey...isn't she coming to town?????? Did i miss it?????
