A word about the girl !!!

She is actually holding down a meal !! Her Aunt Sarah asked her what she wanted her to make her for dinner tonight, she requested her famous Rigatoni. She cooks the sauce all day and the flavor is very rich and full flavored !! It is awesome. And Hill had to get better because she knows it's against the law* to throw-up her Aunt's Rigatoni. (*It was passed when there was a Republican in office !!)
Okay I spoke to soon !!! She broke the law !! This is an old picture from a few months ago. I lost my camera in all of the excitement Saturday night !!!

Take a look, so I'll be accountable to someone !!!

Hey I started a "diet" blog !! It is entitled "Okay I'm singing", you can go there by clicking on my link below !! I am hoping to go in a whole new direction, hence the picture !!! Isn't that the cutest car, it looks like mine only it's the wrong color !! (I figured it is really "Kiwi" but I am going so fast she has heated up!!)

On a happier note !!!

Whole Wheat Herb Bread

2 cups warm water
2 Tbsp. yeast
2 cups whole wheat flour
2.5 cups white flour
1.5 tsp. salt
4 Tbsp. powdered milk
1 Tbsp. sweet basil leaves
1 Tbsp. crushed rosemary
1 Tbsp. ground marjoram
1 Tbsp. crushed parsley leaves
4 Tbsp. olive oil
.5 cup honey
1 large egg

Combine .5 cup warm water and yeast in small bowl. In a large mixing bowl combine wheat flour and 2 cups of white flour, salt, basil, rosemary, marjoram, parsley and powdered milk and mix well. In another bowl mix together 1.5 cups of warm water, oil, honey, and egg. Combine with the dry ingredients and mix until well incorporated. Add yeast mixture to flour mixture and remaining .5 cup of white flour.Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth, adding additional flour to prevent the dough from sticking. Place in lightly oiled bowl and let rise in a warm place until doubled. About one hour. After the bread has doubled, work it down and shape it into 3 free-form rounded loaves or into rolls. For rolls, roll dough 1.5" thick and cut with a biscuit cutter. Cover, let rise for 1 hour. Heat oven to 325* and bake bread on cookie sheet for 20-26 minutes, or until lightly browned.

Sisterhood is awesome !!!

I have felt very loved thru this whole ordeal !! I had personal visits yesterday from Susan Tanner and my mother made us a pot of her famous potato soup and brought it over yesterday !! (gone by last night), and Allyson went out late last night and got us Gator Aid, plus on my blog I have had the most endearing comments and best wishes and prayers from all of my blogging friends. And today I had personal visits from Linda Saunders and Heather Bonham (RS president Academy ward), telephone calls from Linda Ryan (even tho she is sick herself), Allyson (before work and on her way home too) and Linda Jaeckel !!! Plus Julie has called several times today too, checking on Hill and I wishing they were closer so they could help us too !! Not to mention my sweet sister Jamie has called several times checking on Hill and I and making sure Hill doesn't have fever and if she's seen the doctor again, she's an MA and has worked for doctors since High School !! My Nieces Melissa and Jessica have called to make sure we are okay and what they could do to help !! Plus my sister-in-law called to ask Hill what she wants her to make for dinner tomorrow night !!!

It has almost been overwhelming, and if I stop to think about it I'll cry !!!! I wish everyone in the world had the great and wonderful family and friends I have. It is truly a Sisterhood of righteous women who watch over me and Hill, and we are awed by it and thankful !!!

Thank You too all of you Angels...

Thank You to all of the "Angels on Earth" that I know !! Thanks for praying for Hill, she is really in need of your prayers !! She has not stopped vomiting (probably more than you want to know again) all night !! She doesn't want to have to go back to the doctor in the morning !! And I am praying she is better so she doesn't have too !!!

I am grateful for Allyson and her willingness to serve !! She came to the hospital with Dave and Kent Stringham to give Hill a blessing !! She was there to lend moral support and to make us laugh !! And when we came home 3 hours after Hill's surgery she made us dinner and it was just what the doctor ordered !!! And then tonight she went out after 9pm to get us some Gator Aid to help me so I wouldn't have to go and leave Hill alone !!! I called her because she usually has Gator Aid in stock, but when she didn't, out she went !!! Hill is not able to keep it down either but I'm praying she is getting something from it !! She even thought of me and brought me chocolate knowing full well the way I deal with stress is to eat chocolate !!! Thanks Friend you have a large mansion prepared for sure !!!

I don't want to go to sleep in case she should choke and I not hear her, my hearing is not so good any more !!! So I am blogging away to stay awake. There are many more blogs ahead to thank all of those who have made this all possible !! (My being here with Hill 24/7 )

Most importantly I wish to thank Father in Heaven for the advances in medicine, and the country we live in and it's amazing medical care, and his saving my daughters life yet again, and all of the blessings we enjoy even tho we don't have the Priesthood in our home, and for all those men we know who honor their Priesthood and are willing to bless the lives of others so willingly !!

There are so many Angels among us !! Thank You all for being there for us yet again !! Love to you all !!!

My Pay it Forward treasures !!!

Today I received my pay it forward gifts (yes I said gifts) from Susan !! I know I have posted twice today but I couldn't wait to show everyone my treasures !! She gave me a handmade handkerchief for "happy tears" only !!!

She made us little loaves of homemade bread made with fairy dust !! Yum Yum they were delicious !! By the time I got a camera, this is all there was left of the bread !!

The pin she created for me was made from her wedding china and came with the accompanying scriptures and poem on a bookmark !!! (Sorry I couldn't get a better picture cuz it wasn't my camera !!)

"The Lord is nigh unto them that are of broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalms 34:18

"He taketh the broken pieces of our lives and redeems... restores... rebuilds. "

"He maketh everything beautiful in His time... Ecclesiastes 3:11

Mormon Mommy Blogs Giveaway !!!

Ok people....the gals over here have a GREAT giveaway going. So click your way over there and try your luck!

Probably more info than you want !!!!

You may not know but Saturday night as we were babysitting for my Niece and Nephew-in-law (for their anniversay dinner out), Hill had a very bad attack and was transported to the hospital in an ambulance.
I'll tell you how ill she was, she didn't even notice the paramedics were adorable and she was covered in vomit.... Ask me sometime and I'll sing their praises as they cleaned her up themselves !!!
She was so sick she even let me call the paramedics, I knew she was ill then. She is someone who had a rod put in her spine when she was twelve and walked out of the hospital 6 days later without any pain medicine !! She can take pain like no one I know !! So when she was on the floor ill and let me call, my mommie instincts were all crazy !! I was freaking out... but it all came together and I will tell you about my amazing helpers in another blog !!!
Well after 15 and a 1/2 hours in the hospital, thru the emergency room, they took out her gallbladder labroscopically !! They sent her home a scant 3 hours later and she is now home resting sort of comfortably !!
I thought I'd post what it's about below, read it only if you can !!!

What Gallbladders Do

Step 1:The gallbladder is a pear-shaped, dark green, small muscular sack that holds bile until it is needed by the digestive system. The bile, which is made in the liver, is sent to the gallbladder from the liver through very small canals. Once food is eaten, the hormone cholecystokinin, or CKK, is released. This hormone causes the gallbladder to contract, squirting bile into the small intestine where it helps break down the fats in the food.

Location of Gallbladder

Step 1:The gallbladder can be found behind the liver, on the right side. It is connected to the small intestine, which is in turn connected to the liver by small ducts. Bile moves through these ducts, to and from the gallbladder. The primary duct, which is common to the gallbladder and liver, is appropriately called the common bile duct. The bile that moves through these ducts is yellow in color, and bitter. It contains waste materials filtered from the blood by the liver. The bile travels from the liver, through the bile ducts, and then some of the bile is stored in the gallbladder, while the rest flows directly into the small intestine. The bile helps break down the fats in the small intestine, but it also is an antioxidant.

Problems With Gallbladders

Step 1:In some people, gallbladders can become irritated, swollen, blocked or develop stones. If there is a chance that it could burst, then immediate removal of the gallbladder will be recommended. When the gallbladder is removed, the flow of bile from the liver and digestive tract no longer runs smoothly. This means that people who have had their gallbladder removed must be careful about how much fat they eat in their food, what kinds of foods they eat and some may even need to take bile supplements for the rest of their lives.

Union Bank of C_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ !!!

I recently received a check from someone for an item they bought from me. It was a lot of money and was dearly needed (thanks). So to stop my bank from putting a 3 day hold on the check, I took it to the bank the check was drawn on. They charged me $5.00 to cash their own check ?? What a racket they have going, this was the bank which produced the check ??? They are masquerading as a bank when they are no better than a check cashing place !! Who by the way state up front what they are !!?? The funniest part of the whole encounter was when I got upset and told her this was the stupidest thing I ever heard she asked me if I wanted to open an account and there would be no charge ??? Are you kidding me ?? I will never bank with them !! BTW I sent their CEO an email explaining they are truly no better than a check cashing place !! I am not naming names but if you want to know the name just ask me !!! lol

Today my little girl is all grown up !!!

I took this pic today as Hill headed off to teach her first Relief Society lesson !!! It is a hard one too, regarding the keys being restored !!! She is awesome and will do a great job. She didn't ask me to be there, I so totally wanted to go but.... I am grateful for her in my life !!! Thank You Father for Hill in my life !!!

The Comforter.

I want to share with you a thought from the Sunbeam lesson today... it touched my heart and though it is a very easily understood principle I don't think I was using this gift to it's fullness.

"The Holy Ghost is like Heavenly Father and Jesus in many ways, he loves us and helps us. But he does not have a physical body like Heavenly Father and Jesus. He is a spirit so he can quietly put ideas into our minds and give us feelings of happiness and comfort."
I have found in teaching the most basic principles of the Gospel you are lead to the answers you need. One key principle in this equation is we have to be willing to receive the comfort offered. He is always there, he is the gift we were promised by the Savior.

My goal is to live worthy of this gift and utilize the Spirit for the Peace I seek in my crazy day to day life.

A True Friend !!!

I have a very true friend who has known me since I was an awkward Freshman in a new school, Gladstone High School. My family had just moved to Azusa, CA and we didn't have a dime to spare. Her mother was the Young Women's President in our ward. She was a grade ahead of me and even tho I was very badly dressed she befriended me and has been a life long friend. She never tried to change my appearance nor me, she was just an awesome friend who loved hanging out with me !!! I even walked in on her in the girls bathroom in the ward building with another friend defending my attire and me !! The girls from the other ward were well to do (as they used to say) and were asking my 2 friends why they hung out with me? LOL Those girls were embarassed when I came around the corner !!!

We spent many hours in each other homes and she was my ride to seminary everyday for years. Her father even hired me to wash the trucks of his pool cleaning business, which gave me money to buy my own clothes. We had some awesome times together, water balloon fights in summer and toiletpapering on Fridays with the rest of the YW's girls !! (Keep that a secret) and she loved my mother's scones (the danish fried kind).

Over the years she has been a true friend !! She has always been way better at keeping in touch, before computers she wrote me religiously every month. I must confess I wasn't as good at writing back. I still have those letters too !! With the advent of the computer and email we have been in touch way more often, and even tho I have only seen her a handful of times since I was a teenager I know she is a true friend. I recently sent her my blog address and I discovered she is now a follower on my blog !!! I want her to know how much her friendship has meant to me !! The kindness she showed me back then was so needed and did not go unnoticed !! Thanks Janet I really love you and cherish your friendship !! Love Robin

He's just not that into you !!!!!

Tonight I went to the movies with Hill. Okay the story was depressing, if true relationships are like they were portrayed in the movie, the human race would become extinct !!! It was just too much work and so much drama !!!! I will say at the end it was a semi-happy ending. Which was better then the last three chick flicks Hill and I have gone to, we were considering swearing off them. But alas hope springs eternal and we could not help going to see just one more !!! Personally when I go to a movie I want a happy ending. I am paying to be entertained, if I want a sad ending I will read the newspaper (which I don't do). So I don't feel totally ripped off tonight but close !!!!! This was my favorite character in the movie !! Gigi...

She's pink and cute and broken !!!

I would like to lodge a complaint, to Apple, the company !! I just believe when you buy something from a big corporation they should appreciate your business. And when you buy something it should last longer than a few months, especially when the item was not cheap !!!

I got a "Nano" ipod a few months back but did not even load music on it for months because we still had dial-up internet service and you know that it would take a year to upload a single song on dial-up !!!

But when I did load music to her, I just loved it !! The music was all songs I love and I used it at work on days I didn't have hearings, to block out my fellow employees and their way too loud conversations. (I know you're surprised I think someone else is loud, me the queen of loud !!) Trust me on this one, I know way too much about some of the people I work near !! I even used it in the car using my "monster cable" and the auxillary hook-up !!! I love having my own mix of rock, country, oldies and newbies !!

It has broken my heart that one day she just died... yeah she just refused to come on at all. I thought she had just not charged but I tried charging it again and again to no avail... :(... alas no ipod for me. She just refuses to play one more song...

So to the compliant part, I didn't buy my ipod, Glenn did at Circuit City a long time before I was able to use it. Alas no receipt and a company who is going out of business, means no replacement. So I called the Apple store in Fashion Fair to see where they are located to see if the could just give her the once over??? Maybe it's something simple, I thought, and there will be some way cool teenager working there who will just look at her and fix her with a smile?? okay I do wear rose colored glasses !! So when I called the woman who answered stated that to have anyone look at your ipod you have to make an appointment !! An appoinment ??? That implies money would be changing hands, of which I have none to spare on my ipod !!! So she burst my bubble about the way cool teenager just fixing it in a flash, apparently they must have a lot of "nano's" going bad if you need an appointment !!!

So I say wake up Apple if you want people to buy your product in this uncertain economic climate, you need to produce a product that will play for longer than a few months !!! Boy am I mad !!! LOL

Tuesday's with mommie....

When Hill was in London, my sister Jamie and I spent Tuesday evenings with my mom, scrapbooking. Some how after Hill came came home we let those Tuesday's slip away... I truly feel terrible about it. For mom is now 78 years old and her hearing is not what it was, she seems frail to me. I don't want to miss any more time with her, so we have re-instituted "Tuesday's with Mommie" !!!! We started tonight and she was not feeling well but did not want us to leave. Oh how it breaks my heart to see my once vibrant mother so frail.

She saw a new doctor today, and she liked him, so I think she'll go when she should. I am praying it is just an illness which will pass. I loved my mother's spunk, I want it back !! I always knew she would get old someday just not yet !!!

Sunbeams are so awesome !!

Let me just say yesterday with my Sunbeams was awesome !! They have finally decided I am okay and by the end of Primary yesterday were all my new best friends !! I cannot express how happy this makes me, for I love your children so... Thank You for trusting your most treasured gifts with me, at this most precious time.
