Butterflies are drawn to fragrance

Flirting with Fragrance

Eastern tiger swallowtails are generally found on the East Coast, but you can spot them as far west as Colorado. Their larvae love the leaves of trees and shrubs such as cottonwood, sweet bay, and cherry, and adults are attracted to yarrow and hollyhock. Here it is stopping in to drink from a verbena.

Colorful Caller

This is a clouded sulphur butterfly. Look for clouded sulphurs in groups among clover and alfalfa fields, and even around mud puddles. In addition to clover or alfalfa, try planting tall verbena or leaving a few dandelions to invite these pretty friends over for a meal

These are my girls, I have stolen more children !! lol

These pictures were taken on 08/26/2009.

Sweet Sister Johnson has been suffering with a headache for 5 days in this picture !! We are picking up the medicine prescribed by her doctor. Yet if you'll notice there is a smile on her face and she has never taken her malady as a reason to be surly and has continued to serve the Lord VALIANTLY !!! I am going to try to follow her example !!!!

Sister Ahsam (I may have misspelled her name) and Sister Dreschell !! During dinner at Pizza Fusion months ago !! Just a random placement of a picture!!

I must also tell you about this sweet sister who always hops right into the back seat because her companion gets car sick!! Even tho my back seat is a bit awkward for someone who is tall, there's plenty of room but it is stadium seating so to speak and taller people can't always see out !! Nevertheless in the back she goes every time without a moments hesitation !!! She is the softest young heart I have met in a long while !!!

In 1972...

Before she left for Guatemala, Lady Linda posted a picture of herself in 1972. She asked what we were doing in 1972. So here goes...

I was a junior in high school in 1972. I attended Gladstone High School in Azusa, CA for the beginning of the School year, Tulare Union for a part of the time and then the rest of the year at Hanford High school. I worked at my mother's Winchell's donut shop in Hanford, CA. Making donuts and selling them !! Back then donuts were a $1.35 a dozen, and I made $1.35 an hour. I actually miss those days, I like hard physical work much better than sitting behind a desk!!

The rest of the year I was a Senior in the class of 1973, I was 11 lbs. overweight back then and would have been in the Navy as a journalist, after graduation, if I hadn't needed to lose the weight!! While I was working on losing the weight my mother talked me out of joining?? Where would I be now? hmmm They were going to put me through school and send me around the world, again I say hmmm?

This is my only picture from High School, shortly after this was taken I developed my aversion to my picture being taken. I can't stand to look at my own pictures !! So here is all I was doing in 1972, school and working... no extra curricular activities worth mentioning !!

It makes you think...

This is another post I stole from a friend !!! I think this is what is needed here in America, we need to teach our children to be self reliant and the Government does not owe you a living !!!!

"Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with, is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. So here is my Question.

Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them?

Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helping someone sitting on their rump --doing drugs, while I work. . . . Can you imagine how much money the state would save if people had to pass a urine test to get a public assistance check?

I guess we could title that program, 'Urine or You're Out'. Something has to change in this country -- and soon!!!!!!!
