I love Crab Cakes !! For many years I traveled for my job to lots of fun locales. In every city I always tried to find the best Crab cake. I tried them in San Francisco, they were awful. Who'd a thunk it, right there on the water and they can't make a decent crab cake !! In Seattle I went to a restaurant that was so exspensive they didn't even have the prices on the menu??? (How rich ya gotta be?) So of course I ordered the crab cakes. Let's just say that someone's cat was missing it's dinner !! Yuck !! So I paid $38.00 for three tiny little crab cakes my cat would've turned it's nose to !! I've tried them in Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, Cincinnati, Oakland and lots of cities in between !!
You'll never guess where I found the best crab cake ever... It was in Covington, KY at a little restaurant called Nora's. Hill and I were there, I was on a teaching assignment and we were there 3 weeks. We found the restaurant at the beginning of our stay, and because we were on per diem returned often for just the crab cakes !! But alas, we returned to Covington several years later and the crab cakes were no longer the stuff dreams are made of. The restaurant had a new chef and they did not even compare !! Sigh.. So the quest goes on and when I retire in 23 months and 1 week I will be off to Maine to see what I can find there !!

You crabby cake girl....that is an awesome quest. I wish you luck! I would offer to help, but I do NOT like anything from the ocean!!!
i could eat a plate full right now right along side a dish of our sizzling rice soup and our mushu pork!!! thanks for remembering what i wanted to eat! anyway...my sister in law lives in New Orleans. She probably can make a great crab cake. i will check.
You are all welcome for the recipe, I don't even remember which blog I stole it from !! I just thought I would post it cuz it was so easy. Kim, I am so excited, when you get the recipe let me know and we'll have a crab cake party !!! My mouth is watering already !! It is sad I get so excited over food !! Big surprise I know!!!
Steve always orders the crab cake too! He too is always looking for that perfect crab cake. I love sea food, but for some reason crab in a cake doesn't do it for me. The best ones he had was when we were in Annapolis MD. I did taste it, it was good.
