We're on our way !!

Hill and I are on our way to our home in Hurricane for the last time. Life goes on and this will be bittersweet. This is a picture Hill took of the Temple when she first got back from London. It is beautiful.

Mr. J's first Christmas

He is 8 months old and he was opening presents like he knew what was inside !! But then as you can see he thought the paper was the gift !! (I'd say he has his grandpa's hairline !!) It was so much fun to have a baby at Christmas again. I wish you all the most Peaceful day ever !! Love R

Christmas Eve Memories

Of all my childhood memories, Christmas Eve is the best. Some how with no money my Mother always made Christmas special and it always began on Christmas Eve when we were allowed to open one present. It was always PJ's sent by my Grandmother. We'd all be together in our new jammies and watch Christmas shows on TV (yes they had TV then). My parents weren't particularly religious when I was young so it was not all about the Savior's birth but it was a special night to us. When I was a teenager my parents returned to the church, we then learned why Christmas Eve was so special. I love my Christmas Eve memories and treasure them.

A friend recently made a statement to me that I loved. He said, " I wonder what Christmas is like in heaven celebrating with the Savior!!!!" I can picture it in my mind. I'll bet it is similar to the celebration put on for Gordon B.'s birthday in the conference center !!! Only bigger and with concourses of Angels singing praises to the Most High !! I pray your celebration of the Savior's birth is one you will always treasure !! Love to you all and Merry CHRISTMAS !!!

Christmas is 3 days away !!

Christmas is 3 days away and I am sitting in the middle of my living room amidst the explosion of Christmas decorations and presents to wrap !!! Help me Mr. Wizard !!!

Yes Virginia there is a Christmas tree !!!!

Well after 2 weeks and 7 people's involvement we finally have a decorated tree !!! It really is better than this picture shows. I can say that without conceit because it is the first tree Hill has decorated by herself !! Stop by and have a look !!

Wanted: dinner companions

Years ago a group of friends started having dinner together at least once a month to celebrate birthdays (tho why we wanted to remember is beyond me) and just to have some fun girl (yes I said girl) time. We invited lots of different people to join us and over the years some have come and gone as might happen, but this last year we had two of our number move to Arizona !!! Now I ask you how bad can hanging with this group of girls be that two people would move to the back of beyond in Arizona?? We miss them terribly!!! So now we are advertising for new members, so look over the culprits in the picture and see if you might want to join us for some girl time?? You must be over 53 so I can be the youngest member !! LOL

Do these earrings make me look fat?

Hill loves cows. She says they have sweet eyes. Personally I think the earrings are the best part of the cows look. And they're orange to boot !!! I wonder where I can get a pair?

You probably shouldn't experiment on company !!

The Sisters are having dessert at my house. It was just too funny not to record. They are so sweet, they were eating the cookie any way ! What I don't think you'll hear to well is Sister Johnson saying, "It's still edible!!" LOL I just have to say here that life is good really GOOD !! Love you Sisters !! P.S. Comedy or not to comedy?

Okay I ask you is this the face of a comedian? I say yes, but then I think cowboy hats make me look fat too?? So I'm thinking when I retire I'll become a stand-up comedian... It is almost thrilling to think about the future and all I could do !!!! So this week I'm thinking stand-up, what do you think ?

Pizza and games.

We had the McKinney's over for Pizza and games tonight. (I am getting old I forgot to take pictures !!!) I invited them with the intention of whooping them at Phase 10.... Let's just say the next time we invite them we're playing a different game, let's see that's Scrabble we can't play, Phase 10, Sequence ... does anyone have a new game we can play??? LOL

Okay it has frozen over !!! Hill got an "A" on her math test !!! This is my daughter who got my mathless gene !! Can I just say she "ROCKS" !!! A's are the norm in her other courses but math??? !!! Great work Sweetie Petie !!

OKAY EVERYTHING ABOUT ME IS WEIRD !! 1. I have been to Yosemite close to a 1000 times. (...and I don't hike!!)

2. I was raised in a Winchell's donut shop, I made donuts from the age of 15 to 23. (Notice the hips)

3. I loved being a waitress. (.. again I say notice the hips)

4. I own several 100 snack sets. (this is just a bit obsessive)

5. I can write a poem or limerick in a matter of minutes if you give me a subject. (clean ones, no "there was a young woman from perth" !!!)

6. I bit my nails until I was 23. (it's why I have only one knuckle per finger)

7. The weirdest fact I saved for last, I never liked chocolate until 17 years ago !!! (okay I've made up for lost time !!)

If we just drop in !!!

Okay Hill and I are getting pretty good at just dropping in ...

Last week we just dropped in to the Brunsvik's to deliver some baskets and were invited to stay for dinner, that's where I got the recipe for that yummy yam dish.

And tonight we were just dropping by to return a book and found the Relief Society's Christmas social. Now neither one of us are in RS but we were invited in again, for some very yummy food and a wonderful uplift. Sister Tanner's house is decorated so cute as usual, it is a joy to just be there (no this is not her house it was just a picture of a beautifully decorated home so I used it). So yes we crashed another party... So if you're having a party and we show up in your driveway quickly turn off the lights, or set 2 more place settings !! LOL

Friday was a fun day.

Friday was fun !! We had the Sisters for dinner and Bryce, Brandon and Jenna. I made enchilada's (okay! no one go "again" here) and I even experimented with making Spanish rice with brown rice. I loved it, I think everyone else was a little iffy on the rice !!! Of course the best part of the meal was dessert, I bought it! (go figure). It was an Edward's Hershey chocolate pie which comes frozen. Can I just say YUM !!

But the best part of the day was when later in the evening my niece Jenna said, "Your enchilada's melted in my mouth and you are the best Aunt ever." Can I keep her??? Of course I got a little teary... What great people the Lord has placed in my life !! Lucky Me

Let's talk about Love...

Thanks to Susan I found the way to place my favorite song on my blog. It's by Sister Hazel (a rock band), it's called "This Kind of Love". If you listen to the words you'll love it too !! It makes me think about all of the love I've had in my life. How blessed I have been with a family and friends who love me. You have all brought me so much joy I just had to tell you all how much I love you all !!!

I thought I'd post with this blog a picture of my great-nephew Kamron from 3 years ago when he was in my care. He is a testament to what love can do for you. His mother was a drug addict from 12 years old. When she was faced with losing him she got sober and has been for over 3 years. If you met Kamron today you'd know how much his mother loves him, he's bright and affectionate and very well taken care of. My niece is happy for the first time I can ever remember... love of a child brought her here. "This kind of love is what I dreamed about"... Sister Hazel

Heaven in a Tortilla...

Okay I found this idea from as blog I found following blogs !! There are these tortillas at Costco you buy which are raw and you cook them and they are supposed to be really good. She states if you heat them on one side and then flip them and put chocolate chips on them it is pretty heavenly !!! I will be trying this and I'll let you know or maybe I won't have to, as my waist will do it for me !!!

World Peace (I used to be in beauty pagenants, ok that's a lie lol), wisdom of Solomon, clean house, finding the best crab cake ( okay this is me, food had to play some part with my wish list), more time, happiness for all of my friends and family, will power ( okay the crab cakes can be small ones), the courage of Moroni.

You have to know Hillary and I to know why in all of these pictures there is the picture of a book store !!! It was the first place we went when we got off the boat. We told the cab driver "take us to Munro's"...We even took a picture of our cab, which was electric and made no noise at all !! The cab driver was tickled we wanted to take his picture. It was the most beautifu day and as you can see by the pictures it is a beautiful place to be. We went on a whim before school started. I just wanted to share the beauty we experienced in Canada...

We had dinner at Jessica and Nick's home this year. It was a great time and I took Sister Brunsvik's yummy yam dish !! It was a hit, even those who don't usually like yams were eating this dish and ohhing and awing !! As you'll see by the pictures I have an awesome family. I pray everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I haven't quite figured out how to place photos and put writng below them, yet but soon...

Here is the picture of the Sister Missionaries serving in our ward. We had them for dinner a couple of Sunday's ago. I had not figured out the computer then and posted an older picture of Sister D and Sister Needs, so here is the picture from that Sunday. Don't they just make you want to live the Gospel to be like them !! Thank You Sister's for the spirit you have brought to my home, and the joy to my heart !! Love you both !!!

On Saturday we celebrated Mom's 78 birthday. It was the first time we had earthquake cake? It was really good. okay it was cake with a super fault in the middle !! Why I volunteered to bring the cake I don't know !! Ha Mom loved it anyway.

Cheater I may be, but...

Okay call me a cheater, I went to the movie twilight without reading the book... Okay I did start it, but put it down... I don't know does that take away my chick status? Every one has read the books and loved them, however I thought them too suspensful and preferred to get updates from Hill on the story. I have never been a vampire kind of girl, I know everyone says it's a love story and not scary... But Vampires? really...After seeing the movie I will definiently (why does blogspot not have spell check?) be reading the books !!!

Tonight we had the Sister Missionaries for dinner. (This is not a picture from tonight cuz the computer is smarter than me and wants the right cable to download a picture from my camera. I'm sick of it's smart aleck attitude !!!) So I offer up a picture from a previous night. Sister Needs, on the right, is no longer in our ward, but Sister D is (okay I admit it I can't spell Sister Dreschell's? last name !!!) Sister Haws is our new Missionary and I will post her picture at a later date, some how !!! I love having these sweet Sisters in my home, they are truly some of the Lord's most valiant servants.

When I grow up I want to be a missionary !!! Don't say it, I will too grow up someday !! Unhuh

Mr.J,Mr J, What it is Bro

Have you seen the commercial, where the heavyset man is riding his bike around and everyone is saying "Hey Money", and he returns their greeting with "What it is Bro", it's a comcast commercial. The announcer says everyone loves "Money", My previously favorite daughter, insists the next time I'm out for a ride, I say "What it is Bro" to everyone I greet. She used to be so sweet... If she comes up missing check my trunk !!! Oh yeah I don't have a trunk !!

Mason are you sure you're only three?

Yesterday was Hillary's birthday and we went to dinner with my beautiful neice Melissa and her two awesome boys. Seth is 7 and Mason is 3. We had so much fun.

After dinner the restaurant staff came over to sing to Hillary and brought her the usual ice cream in a martini class. Mason was sitting in the chair against the window and he pulled his chair around Hillary to be right in front of the ice cream. I'm talking faster than a blink of an eye. How he got the chair around the other tables chairs and out in the isle without a sound, in seconds, will always be a marvel to me !!!! He proceeded to eat her ice cream, Hillary got very little of the ice cream. When he was done eating all of the ice cream he pulled his chair right back where it began. Now in it's self that was pretty funny but what followed was even funnier. Melissa promised her boys to take them for ice cream after dinner. She took them to Maggie Moo's and bought both boys a scoop of ice cream with marshmellows on top. Hillary asked Mason for one of his marshmellowsand he looked down and wouldn't look at her, his brother reached over and gave one to Hillary. Mason put his arm around his ice cream and looked at Hillary and said, " You already had yours !!" I almost fell off the chair... Thank You Mason for the good time.

Happy Birthday Sweetie Petie

The first time I saw her she was 7 hours old and screaming bloody murder!! I was in intensive care on a breathing machine and the nurse brought her to me. She placed her on my stomach and she looked up into my eyes as if to say, "Where in the h--- have you been !!" She laid her head down and went to sleep. If anyone knows Hill, you know she probably did say that word I blipped. She has been a force to be dealt with ever since. That moment set the tone of our lives together, you can bet I am never farther away than she needs me to be.

I have been truly blessed, how many people are lucky enough to give birth to their best friend!! She is my greatest fan and the only person who knows my heart like it is her own. I will never have the words to tell my Father in Heaven all she has meant to me and thank him for his generous gift. She has been the source of my greatest joy. She can make me laugh and cry like no one else, some times all at once !!

Happy Birthday Sweetie Petie thanks for coming to be my daughter here and forever !!

Blogging is not easy, no matter what you say !!!

Okay I am a little frustrated, trying to learn this new thing, blogging!! I now have high-speed internet service, weren't things supposed to work now and be much faster??? In stead it freezes up faster, I didn't know that was what they meant by high-speed !!! It is not going to beat me tho!! So when you view my blog and find things really askew, just nod and know the computer won for that day !!

Today was a great day. First off it was a day with no Glenn in it, I had the day off with pay (holiday), had lunch and shopped with good friends, music and conversation with my daughter what more could I ask?? Okay so there are a few things I could ask for like a million less bills but I refuse to look a gift horse in the mouth. By the way have you ever smelled a horses breath? I say don't get that close to the horse's mouth !!!

Here I go...

I have no idea what I'm doing yet, but I suppose I'll learn. I can't even get the font to remain where I want it to be !! Anyone who knows me, knows I love !!, and use them profusely. They make me happy so why not !! The title simply means the air above ground is better than below !! So everyday alive is a gift I'm gratedful for!! I had a great day today, it started out with breakfast with my darling mom and will end with time with my angel daughter, what's not to love??.
