Shortly after I married, life was not as I pictured it would be as a young girl. I truly didn't like being around my husband and most of my family didn't either, because of how he treated me... but I committed to marriage and hoped it would get better.
My parents had a similar marriage, my dad being the one that made life unpleasant. I truly thought I was smart and had married someone different than my father. But alas it was only a week before I knew I had made a mistake.
Now I don't mention this to make anyone feel sorry for me, that's not who I am... I made the most of it and will never ever regret my marriage for one reason alone, Hillary !!
So to the reason of this post... I am grateful for all of those in my life who have set a good example for me and helped me to know marriage is truly of God!! I teasingly say to them, "Hmm what would it be like to want your husband around?" I do not know and never did. So thank you to my friends who have shared a glimpse of how it can be!!
From Julie who can't wait to get in the truck and travel any where Jeff goes, to David rising every time Susan enters a room, to Bobbie and Rick Salway always putting the other persons wishes first, to my little brother who works around the house as much as my sister in law though he works long hours and he never leaves a mess anywhere in the house, to Steve making everyone wait to eat cake until Linda has her piece of cake, and Allyson calling Dave her forever boyfriend, and the list goes on. So know that someone is always watching what you do, not what you say.
Thank you to all of you for the hope you have given me that a relationship can be sweet and uplifting and fun and worth having. Maybe not until the next life for me, but regardless I would settle for nothing less than the examples I have enjoyed !!

That's a very sweet post. You are an amazing example of someone who accepts responsibility and endures no matter how hard it gets. You are a blessing and an example to us all! (spoken and unspoken!)
Thank you Allyson, but I almost feel as if I have cheated because none of my trials have felt very heavy for long, cuz my Savior has carried me thru them all !!
What a wonderful post...I know that Heavenly Father has someone wonderful in mind for you...Washington is fun...but I miss being home....
The music goes perfectly with this post. And what a sweet one.
Before I ever officially met you Robin, my sister told me what a Christ like person you are. She was in awe by you, and now I am, too.
It is a true gift to be able to notice and enjoy those examples around you. It is nice and refreshing to know that there are really great men out there amidst all of the lesss than decent ones!
Susan you have been missed !! I felt as if my partner in crime was missing !! lol
Jill you are the one I am in awe of, and I count you and Dennis as examples also. I read your blog and marvel !! Thanks for sharing how good it can be!!
Kelly it is true I would feel like there was no hope if every Sunday I didn't see such wonderful men treating their wives and children like the treasures they are !! I realize it is not always that perfect, but life isn't is it? !!
